With responsibility for a team of up to 60 staff and extensive contractor resources, you will drive performance, accountability, and innovation across a large-scale, high-profile programme.The remit of this role spans all construction activities through to handover. You will balance technical excellence and financial rigour with outstanding communication and collaboration, ensuring residents are engaged, informed, and empowered throughout the process.We’re looking for a construction professional with significant experience of capital programmes and the complexities of improving and preserving existing housing stock. The post holder will specialise in managing anti-social behaviour cases, including tenancy fraud and domestic abuse, and will play a key part in protecting our communities. The successful candidate will work closely with a range of external partners, including safeguarding teams and local policing teams, to ensure we deliver the highest standard of service. Your role will include conducting and preparing legal paperwork for the organisation by gathering appropriate evidence, issuing of court applications and legal advocacy which you will receive full guidance and training on. You may be given the opportunity to take responsibility for the enforcement of tenancy conditions and challenge community safety issues which may arise including the investigation of anti-social behaviour complaints. More about you To be considered for this role, it is essential that you will have experience in housing management and/or a good understanding of tenancy agreements, housing law, and DA case management. Experience managing anti-social behaviour would be a distinct advantage. However, it is imperative that you have a genuine passion for the housing sector and supportive vulnerable people. You should have the proven ability to manage your own workload and be able to work effectively and efficiently using your own initiative. Attention to detail is critical in order to be successful in this role. It is essential that you have excellent communication skills to support customer relations both internally and externally and able to demonstrate your ability to create effective relationships with colleagues and external agencies. Community Safety Manager

INTERNAL VACANCY This is an incredible opportunity to gain valuable experience of working at Head of Service level as we seek to ensure the service can deliver our statutory Community Safety responsibilities into the future. The successful candidate will work across York and North Yorkshire to influence and shape strategic crime reduction strategies and policies for the City of York Council and its statutory partners. They will provide innovative solutions to crime, anti-social behaviour (ASB), substance misuse and fear of crime where no bespoke solution is available. Also influence the strategic contribution of all statutory partners and other key stakeholders engaged in crime and disorder reduction and to ensure that their policies and processes support delivery of the Community Safety Strategy. They will also influence and shape partner activities such that policies and processes support the delivery of the Anti-social Behaviour, Crime &amp; Policing Act 2014 and lead City of York Councils statutory duty under the Counter Terrorism and Security Act 2015, Serious Violence Duty and Prevent Duty.
