Job Description Would you like to join our team as an Independent Living Advisor and help us to deliver an excellent service for our residents? This is a great opportunity for anyone who is a customer-focused team player. Reporting to the Independent Living Manager, you will be responsible for providing an intensive housing management service to our customers. This will include developing successful relationships, assisting prospective customers to view properties and settle into their accommodation, assisting in tenancy management matters and ensuring customers understand their rights and responsibilities per their tenancy agreement. The successful candidate will work Monday - Friday, and will be working across our different schemes in Crewe and the surrounding areas. You will need to hold a full UK Driving Licence and have access to your own vehicle. Accommodation Co-ordinator

Housing Standards Officers play a critical role in ensuring rented housing across Cheshire East meets a safe living standard. The role is to educate, engage and encourage landlords to provide safe housing, and take enforcement action where it is needed to deal with breaches in legislation. Good quality homes can have positive impacts on people's health - and conversely, poorly maintained homes can exacerbate poor physical and mental wellbeing. The Housing Standards team work across a diverse housing sector, but primarily with low-income households in private rented housing, to make sure people's health isn't made worse by poor quality housing. We are recruiting 2 Housing Standards Officers to drive up standards across the rented sector, ensure compliance in how Houses in Multiple Occupation are managed, and tackle issues caused by empty homes. To be successful in this role, you will bring your construction / housing enforcement knowledge and your negotiation and interpersonal skills to effectively manage all stakeholders in the enforcement process, including tenants, private landlords, registered providers of social housing, other accommodation providers, Fire Service, Police, and other Council departments. The role will provide the opportunity to work on a diverse range of cases both in the office and on site in people's homes. You will need good organisational, report writing and IT skills and attention to detail. You will work as part of a team of 6 Housing Standards Officers, 2 Assistant Housing Standards Officers, a Duty Assistant and a Team Leader, as well as colleagues in the wider Housing service who deliver adaptations, domestic retrofit, hoarding support, and housing options. The team works on a hybrid basis; predominantly working from home but also working in our Crewe office at least one day per week. The Council will provide the appropriate IT equipment to enable this. You will be asked to provide a satisfactory basic DBS check as part of the pre-employment checks.
