A bit about the role Our housing support and care at home service is all about empowering young individuals to live independently within their own homes and communities. We currently provide full-time, 2:1 care and support for two young people, a young man and a young woman. Both our young people have a learning disability and can at times present with behaviours that challenge. They live individually in their own tenancies and our aim is to promote and develop their skills and advocate on their behalf. Our approach is centred on assisting them with daily routines, personal care, and medication, all while nurturing their zest for life and activity. We keep them engaged with exciting adventures, walks, swimming, surfing, park visits, and exploring new experiences. As a Housing Support Worker in our team, you'll play a crucial role in creating and implementing personalised care plans. Job Description ROLE SUMMARY The Minister for Social Care and Mental Wellbeing is seeking to appoint 2 board members to the Independent Living Fund Scotland (ILF Scotland) Board. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a board that seeks to improve the outcomes for disabled people across Scotland and Northern Ireland. The Board of Directors provide a critical governance function for ILF Scotland and put disabled people from all backgrounds, and their needs and experiences, at the heart of their decision making. In order to further the effectiveness of the ILF Scotland board, the Minister is particularly interested in hearing from people who have expertise in one or more of the following areas: <ul><li>Understanding and/or personal experience of social care in Northern Ireland</li><li>Understanding of the legal and ethical frameworks that underpin disabled people's rights and adult social care practice, such as human rights, equalities, benefits and financial support or public protection</li><li>Human resources and workforce strategy</li></ul>More information about the experience required can be found in the candidate information pack.
