About the role The role will be based at our Enhanced Support Housing Scheme for Older people based in St Agnes. the role requires day to day running of the scheme, carrying out various health and safety checks and ensuring that the building is safe and secure. Officers are also responsible for working alongside the onsite care and support team, assisting with tenancy allocations, sign-ups and supporting tenants to manage their tenancies. The role will also see the Scheme Manager offer advice and guidance to residents in regarding to health and social care needs. As well as working with different departments across the company for example, Homes and investments and Rent Management, the Officers also work with other organisations within the Council and the local communities in order to ensure tenants have all the relevant support needed. Independent Living Scheme Management Officer

Job Description Cornwall Council provides homelessness and housing register services within Cornwall. We are providing critical help and support to help people to resolve their housing need. This is a specialist post intended to engage with people who are sleeping rough in Cornwall and manage a case load of customers that are seeking assistance with a variety of housing related issues. This role will ensure that housing advice and assistance is delivered to a group of people who can be hard to engage with; whilst maintaining a high standard of practice and ensuring the Council's statutory duties are met in line with key performance indicators. The Homelessness Prevention &amp; Engagement Outreach Worker (Rough Sleepers) will be at the forefront of the delivery of this service and will contribute to the promotion, development and improvement of a proactive homelessness prevention and relief service in accordance with the Housing Options pathway and contribute to the successful delivery of the Cornwall Rough Sleeping Reduction Strategy. Homeless Prevention & Casework Officer (Outreach)

Homelessness Support Coordinator Application Deadline: 10 October 2024 Department: Resettlement - Truro Employment Type: Permanent - Full Time Location: Truro Reporting To: Iain Inchley Compensation: GBP 28,776 / year Description As a Homelessness Support Coordinator, you will work with individuals who have been rough sleeping or who are at risk of rough sleeping in Cornwall. You will carry out intensive assessments to identify clients' support and housing needs, advocate for them and help them to access the services they need. As part of the Non-Residential team primarily based at the Resettlement Centre in Truro, you will also be expected to provide cover at the Breadline Centre in Penzance when required. Your duties will include the organisation of groups and meetings within the projects, supporting colleagues with assessments and the reconnection of clients to their hometowns, and facilitating the "drop in" sessions provided by the organisation. Whilst you will normally work within the services' opening hours, there will be a requirement for occasional evening and weekend work as directed by the Non-Residential Service Manager. This will include providing support to St Petrocs' emergency "Winter Service" during the colder months. Interviews are expected to take place on Wednesday 16th October 2024. This will include housing providers, DAAT, Police, Probation, Job Centre+ and the Benefits Agency and other linked in Support Workers.</li><li>Liaise with "Health for Homeless", primary and secondary health care services including mental health services to ensure that service users receive timely and appropriate services to meet their needs.</li><li>Ensure the needs and requirements of the funding and partner agencies are met.</li><li>Provide a telephone advice service during working hours.</li><li>Assist with building upkeep and maintenance, e.g. undertaking and recording necessary health and safety checks, general cleaning and tidying. </li><li>Support volunteers with receiving and sorting donations of bedding, clothing, and other items.</li><li>Ensure clients are fed by preparing donated food items or making sandwiches.</li><li>Work in other areas of the service as required.</li><li>Attend events as a positive ambassador for St Petrocs, promoting and raising awareness of its services and inspiring existing and potential supporters.</li><li>Carry out any other duties as reasonably requested.</li></ol> Who we're looking for.
