Tenancy Support Worker Workington, Cumbria Permanent, Full time (37.5 hpw) Pay £12.00 per hour (Salary £23,464 per annum) plus Brilliant Benefits including cash Health Plan Home, a place where you belong We have a fantastic opportunity to join our team here at our Allerdale rough sleepers' accommodation programme as a Tenancy Support Worker (known by us as Support Worker). Allerdale RSAP is our supported accommodation service in Workington and Cockermouth. We've been open just over three years now and it is fantastic to see the differences we've made and continue to make to our customers lives on a daily basis. The positive outcomes speak for themselves. We support people who have been homeless or are at risk of homelessness. Each of our customers has their own story and understanding this is key in the role of a Support Worker. What is a typical day as a Support Worker? <ul> <li> Assisting customers with practical, daily living tasks to develop their independence, helping them to achieve the goals, aspirations and outcomes documented in their support plans. </li> <li> Running customer activities in the service, encouraging customers to interact with other customers and build the skills they need to achieve independence. </li> <li> You will support customers to access external groups and agencies to build up their own support networks for when they are ready to move into independent accommodation. </li> <li> You would be supporting customers to build the skills they need to maintain permanent independent accommodation. This might be things like budgeting, paying bills, setting up utilities, ensuring their property is clean and tidy, cooking good healthy meals. </li> <li> Liaising with external agencies and bringing those agencies around the table to provide the support your customers need to hit their goals. </li> <li> Working with customers to secure permanent accommodation. </li> </ul>Did I mention you would be working for one of the "Top Ten Great Place to Work" in the UK? Our team We have a fab team of 3 support workers, 2 waking night concierges and Joanna Peters is our senior client services manager for the service. As well as looking out for our customers, we look out for each other too. We are a 24.7 service. Our night concierge team works our night shifts; 8pm - 8am, and our support workers will work predominately between the hours of 8am and 8pm Monday - Sunday. Typical shifts are on a 3-week rolling pattern - These being: 8am - 4pm; 9am - 5pm; 12pm - 8pm. You Bring <ul> <li> You need to be passionate about supporting people to achieve their full potential. </li> <li> You need to be someone who is tenacious. Thing's won't always go right but you will be able to pull it all back together and get things back on track. </li> <li> You will be empathetic. You will understand where people are in their lives and adapt your approach to support them. </li> <li> You need to be someone who gets a buzz from seeing someone achieve something they have been working towards, no matter how small. </li> <li> You will be someone who is able to work with other agencies and pull them in to support your customers to be their best. </li> <li> If you have worked in support, care or housing before - that'd be great. But it's the people skills we are looking for. We can teach you the rest so do not let that put you off. </li> <li> You'll need an Enhanced DBS check done and we pay for that. </li> <li> As we work with customers in the community, a driving licence and access to a car is a must. </li> </ul>Due to limits on our current certificates of sponsorship, we are not able to offer sponsorship to external candidates for this role.
