Accommodation Coordinator
Location: Durham
Salary up to £29,812.57 per annum
Contract: Full time - Permanent
Hours: 40hrs per week, Monday to Friday
About the Role:
The Accommodation Coordinator will be responsible for processing referrals for people in probation leaving prison, ensuring timely and accurate handling of accommodation requests. The role involves reviewing referrals, drafting and issuing correspondence, and maintaining regular communication via email with internal teams and external partners. You will work confidently across Microsoft platforms to update records, manage bed-space reports, and handle sensitive data in line with information-sharing and confidentiality requirements. Although allocation decisions are made elsewhere, you will be responsible for updating internal systems, to reflect placements and changes. The post also requires completing risk assessments; comprehensive training will be provided, but candidates must be comfortable assessing and managing risk within a criminal justice setting.

Role Criteria:
- Prioritise safeguarding and service user experience in all accommodation decisions
- Collaborate closely with regional teams and the transport team throughout the placement process
- Maintain clear communication and coordination across departments
- Provide excellent customer service, ensuring a positive experience for service users
- Demonstrate previous experience working in an office administration environment
- Confidently make and answer phone calls as part of daily coordination
- Carry out administrative duties with accuracy and attention to detail
- Be IT literate, with strong proficiency in Microsoft platforms (e.g. Outlook, Excel, Teams)
- Communicate effectively with colleagues, stakeholders, and service users, showing strong interpersonal skills
- Confiendce and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Criminal justice knowledge and experience
- Experience and knowledge in Mental Health and behavioural risk assessments
