We're looking for a proactive, organised and enthusiastic Accommodation Officer to join our Property and Campus Services team at the University of Liverpool.
This is a fantastic opportunity to play a central role in supporting students as they begin and shape their University journey, while contributing directly to our mission as a world-leading institution.
This role is offered on a hybrid working basis subject the needs of the Accommodation Office. There are times of the year where full-time office work is required, and holiday cover.
About the role
As an Accommodation Officer, you will be a key point of contact for all matters related to university accommodation. You will support prospective and current students through the full accommodation lifecyclefrom enquiries and applications to arrivals, events, and ongoing engagement.
You will work closely with the Hall Management Teams, Halls Life Team and colleagues across Property and Campus Services to ensure students receive a welcoming, efficient and positive experience.
You will help deliver key annual activities, including Open Days, Arrivals Week, Clearing and Confirmation, as well as support marketing activity, presentations, and student events. Some evening and weekend work will be required throughout the year.
Key responsibilities
- Act as a friendly, informed point of contact for students, parents, and external stakeholders (in person, email, phone and online chat). - Promote and market University accommodation to prospective students and their families.
- Send accommodation offers and maintain accurate student records using systems such as Kinetics, Banner and Agresso - Support the smooth running of the Accommodation Office and contribute to improvements in processes and systems.
- Assist with the creation of student-facing communications, social media content, posters and visual materials. - Support events, including Open Days, campus tours and Halls Life activities (evenings/weekends required).
- Provide administrative support for team projects and the recruitment of student staff (e.g., Residential Advisers).
About you
We're looking for someone who is:
- Customer-focused with experience in a busy, frontline environment (ideally HE or student accommodation). - A clear and confident communicator with strong writing skills.
- Organised, proactive and able to prioritise effectively in a fast-paced environment. - Technically capable, with good experience of Microsoft Office and large database/record systems.
- Creative, positive, reliable and able to work independently as well as part of a team. - Flexible, with the ability to support events during evenings and weekends when needed.
Essential skills & experience
- Demonstrable customer service excellence. - Experience handling enquiries and maintaining accurate records.
- Relevant organisational skills with experience planning and prioritising work. - Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Computer literacy across MS Office and email.
Desirable: Experience in higher education or student accommodation, content creation experience, understanding of UK housing or tenancy processes, and familiarity with systems such as Kinetics, Agresso and online webchat.
