It's an exciting time for our expanding Estates service and we have a great opportunity to be at the heart of our forward thinking and dynamic team, here at Derby City Council. We manage over 1,400 assets and have a rent roll in excess of £3 million per annum. We have a range of truly exciting upcoming projects including the Station Quarter and the Market Place, amongst others across our City.

The Opportunity
In the role of Asset Surveyor, here's an example of what you'll be doing to make an impact:

You will conduct strategic asset reviews, such as suitability surveys and option appraisals, delivering property management advice, across several internal services and to external stakeholders. Further, you will undertake work to support the outcome of the reviews.

You will support the Strategic Asset Manager with Project Workloads including the Council's disposal and acquisition programme and will identify opportunities for property rationalisation and service relocation. You'll contribute to and prepare reports for decision making bodies, contributing to asset data collection and mapping.

About You
To be successful in this role, you'll ideally have...
• Experience of asset management planning
• Substantial knowledge of estate processes and practices
• Have experience of work with or for Local Government
• RICS Accredited Degree / Qualification in Estates Management or equivalent is preferable but not essential
• A strong work ethic and enjoy working in a team environment
