The Vacancy
Ardingly College is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic Assistant House Supervisor to join their busy and dynamic team.
The Assistant House Supervisor will provide cover across all Boarding Houses for House Supervisors on a rota basis and in Day Houses when required. They will complete the general day to day duties in the House, for example, cleaning and tidying, preparing and overseeing break, and laundry in the boarding houses, but also be prepared to give emotional support to students and be available to talk and listen.
The post holder will support a team of professionals in the Boarding and Day Houses to ensure the security, welfare and well-being of all students in the house. They will build positive, appropriate relationships with the students to promote their physical and emotional welfare.
The role would suit someone with a warm and empathetic personality who is able to build a good rapport with pupils and staff. Experience of care in an educational setting would be advantageous but is not essential.
Working hours are 8am to 4pm, Monday to Friday for 37 weeks per year (term time plus 3 additional weeks). Flexibility to work occasional Saturdays and to support functions is required. This is a non-residential position.
Salary: £20,352 per annum.
