About the Role

Wrexham Council is seeking an exceptional Chief Officer for Housing & Assets to shape the future of housing across a diverse and growing area set between the Dee Valley, the North Wales mountains and the Cheshire plains.

Our Housing Service owns and manages internally over 11,000 social housing properties, the largest number in any Welsh Local Authority apart from Cardiff and Swansea. This stock includes properties of various different ages, shapes and sizes and built from all types of different materials whilst meeting the Welsh Housing Quality Standards.

This is a rare opportunity to lead a service at a pivotal moment. As demand for high quality, sustainable housing continues to rise, we are transforming the way we plan, deliver and support homes for our residents. We are looking for a leader who combines professional depth with strategic vision—someone who can innovate, influence and drive meaningful change.

As our Chief Officer for Housing & Assets, you will:

• Lead the delivery of high quality, safe and sustainable housing services that meet the needs of service users, residents and future generations

• Responsible for

• Oversee strategic tenant responsibilities, housing growth, asset management, homelessness services, housing provision as a landlord and tenant enforcement and engagement

• Champion modern, compassionate and preventative approaches to housing challenges

• Ensure strong financial stewardship while driving service improvement and innovation

• Build productive partnerships with Elected Members, Senior Leaders, housing associations, developers and community organisations

• Play a key leadership role in delivering our Council Plan priorities
