We’re extremely proud that Barnsley Council, in partnership with Berneslai Homes, became the first local authority partnership in the UK to receive a top-tier C1 grading from the Regulator of Social Housing.About the roleAs Head of Housing Management, you’ll lead a diverse portfolio of services including housing and tenancy management, income and leaseholder services, community buildings, and specialist support initiatives. You’ll be responsible for driving transformational change, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and embedding a culture of prevention and early intervention across all service areas.This is a high-impact role where you will:<ul><li>Lead strategically: Develop and deliver innovative strategies aligned with our Strategic Plan.</li><li>Champion safeguarding: Act as the company’s Safeguarding Lead, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of vulnerable customers.</li><li>Drive performance: Manage a £5.8m budget and lead a team of 140 professionals to deliver exceptional services.</li><li>Influence partnerships: Represent Berneslai Homes at key strategic boards and partnerships, shaping policy and practice at local and regional levels.</li><li>Innovate for impact: Introduce new ways of working, secure external funding, and deliver initiatives that make a real difference to our tenants and communities.</li></ul>What we’re looking forWe need an inspirational leader who:<ul><li>Holds a relevant degree or equivalent professional qualification.</li><li>Has extensive knowledge of housing law, safeguarding legislation and regulatory compliance.</li><li>Brings proven experience in strategic leadership within a complex public sector environment.</li><li>Demonstrates resilience, adaptability, and a track record of delivering transformational change.</li><li>Is customer-focused, with exceptional communication and influencing skills at all levels.</li></ul>Why join us?At Berneslai Homes, we’re committed to creating safe, sustainable and vibrant communities.
