Cricket has the great ability to improve the physical and mental wellbeing of residents in Gloucestershire across all ages, genders and ethnic backgrounds. It has the power to improve lives, bring communities together and inspire people to do more, whether it is Walking Cricket, accessible holiday activity or a community owned Table Cricket offer.

We are looking for a community minded individual who will drive our mission forward to improve lives through the power of cricket by forging partnerships with health organisations, community groups and volunteers to identify projects where cricket can add value and social impact to people and their communities.

This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate due to the untouched nature of this work throughout the game. You will have the opportunity to create new cricket programmes that will reach new audiences creating new outcomes with high impact that supports national institutions such as the NHS and the armed forces.

Key responsibilities
• Identify opportunities for cricket programmes that support wellbeing and health initiatives
• Grow and develop our Walking Cricket offer
• Create a community Table Cricket offer
• Determine areas to deliver cricket for adults with disabilities age 25 and over
• Support Disability Champion Cricket Clubs with their offer
• Engage the club network with wellbeing initiatives
• Provide cricket at community engagement events
• Forge impactful relationships with health organisations and Primary Care Networks
• Build and maintain positive relationships with the VCSE Alliance and Active Partnerships
• Work with Development Officers of ACE, Street, Super 1s, Wicketz to grow their programmes
• Work with Women and Girls' Development Manager to create female only community cricket hubs
• Support volunteers at community cricket hubs
• Champion inclusion, cultural understanding and our GRACE Campaign across all areas of cricket delivery
• Capture engaging and uplifting stories for case studies
• Report back to Community Development Manager findings and data
• Feedback on any funding opportunities

Essential
• A full and valid UK driving license and have access to a car
• Excellent relationship-building skills and the ability to engage respectfully with people from a range of communities and cultural backgrounds
• An Enhanced DBS check or willing to gain certification
• Commitment to achieving ECB Level 1/Foundation Coach or higher within a short space of time

Desirable
• Insight to the geography and community work of the region
• An understanding of the cricket landscape in Gloucestershire
• Demonstrate an understanding of GCF's community programmes and ECB's National Programmes - All Stars and Dynamos

The employee's normal working days will be Monday-Friday and will normally be expected to complete at least 37.5 hours in a week. The employee will not normally be required to work before 9am, however, due to the nature of the work involved in this position, the employee will be required to work some evenings and weekends. The post holder will be required to carry out their duties at such times and on such days that are the most effective to perform the responsibilities of the position.
