Community Engagement Officer

Location: B73 6EB, must be willing to work between all our Birmingham leisure centres.Hours: 40 hours per week between Monday to Friday + Occasional evenings / weekends when required.
Salary: £26,280.07 per annum + Excellent benefits

Birmingham Community Leisure Trust is looking for a motivated and community-focused Community Engagement Officer to help transform our leisure centres into vibrant community hubs.

About the Role

As a Community Engagement Officer, you will play a key role in building strong relationships with local communities, voluntary organisations, and partners. You'll help ensure our leisure centres offer more than just physical activity - creating welcoming spaces where people can connect, feel supported, and thrive.

You will work across various leisure centres in Birmingham, identifying opportunities to deliver inclusive, community-focused activities that meet the diverse needs of local residents.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain strong relationships with community organisations and partners
• Create and manage a comprehensive community contact database
• Identify and develop opportunities for community activities within leisure centres
• Liaise with centre staff to book and coordinate activities and sessions
• Support organisations once activities are established
• Assist with member sign-ups and site tours where required
• Identify and support applications for external grant funding
• Contribute to and lead the BCLT Sport & Community Engagement Plan
• Support centre staff with community-related queries
• Assist with advertising and promotion of activities
• Ensure equality, diversity, safeguarding, and privacy needs are understood and met

• Confident using IT and Microsoft Office packages

Essential Requirements

• A community development qualification and/or relevant leisure/community experience
• A full, current driving licence
• Willingness to travel across Birmingham as required
