Care and support
The role
All University of Bristol students, whether they live in university or privately rented accommodation, are part of the local community. We take great pride in the value our students bring to the city through their voluntary activity, collaborative initiatives and enrichment of the diversity and culture that makes Bristol special.
The University also recognises there can sometimes be challenges in terms of integrating students into a residential community, particularly as many are living independently for the first time. In response, the Community Liaison Office operates a range of proactive educational and reactive disciplinary measures to help students acclimatise to independent living outside of university halls, with the aim of ensuring they can integrate harmoniously into their chosen residential neighbourhoods.
The Community Liaison Coordinator will be a pivotal role helping to ensure the University maintains good community relations with its neighbours. Working closely with the Community Liaison Officer, UWE Bristol, Bristol City Council, Avon & Somerset Police, and Bristol Waste Company, the role will help ensure the smooth functioning of the Community Liaison Office, providing administrative support, acting as a `first point of contact` for community complaints (primarily poor waste management, excess noise and general anti-social behaviour), engaging students and local residents to promote positive behaviours, and supporting the progression of disciplinary investigations to resolve issues.

Our strategy and mission
We recently launched our strategy to 2030 tying together our mission, vision and values.
The University of Bristol aims to be a place where everyone feels able to be themselves and do their best in an inclusive working environment where all colleagues can thrive and reach their full potential. We want to attract, develop, and retain individuals with different experiences, backgrounds and perspectives - particularly people of colour, LGBT+ and disabled people - because diversity of people and ideas remains integral to our excellence as a global civic institution.
