We are looking to recruit a flexible, enthusiastic individual with a passion for delivering essential services to diverse and vulnerable communities. As a Community Liaison Officer, you will be engaging with a range of communities through initiatives to develop community engagement and relationship building and work with those with a Protected Characteristic. You will support and influence a partnership response to the wider cohesion agenda across the council and represent the service at local level. You will support and lead community cohesion projects and ongoing activities across the Wakefield district with a focus on building capacity within communities and supporting organisations, to reduce inequalities and promote equality.
You should have excellent community engagement and communication skills, with the ability to liaise with individuals who may have limited English. You should be able to use your initiative to work with limited supervision whilst being able to identify urgent situations and respond with the appropriate levels of escalation. You will need experience in working with community groups to source funding and make funding applications.
