Qualifications

Essential criteria

• Good literacy and numeracy skills.
• Diploma in healthcare discipline and/or equivalent experience
• Evidence of on-going professional development.

Desirable criteria

• Certificate of Phlebotomy

Experience

Essential criteria

• Ability to plan, prioritise own and delegated work tasks and activities.

Desirable criteria

• Previous experience within Liver/Gastro services.
• Previous experience of working with hard to engage patient groups.

Skills, Knowledge and Ability

Essential criteria

• Ability to maintain and improve knowledge, skills and competence to ensure high standards of patient care.
• Ability to carry out routine elements of assessment as directed by registered practitioner.
• Ability to meet basic care needs of patients.
• Understanding of confidentiality.
• Understanding of basic safeguarding.
• Current driving licence and access to own vehicle.
• Good IT skills.
• Ability to be responsible for own development and identify own training needs.
• Ability to initiate emergency action when required e.g. cardiac arrest, fire

Desirable criteria

• Fibroscan skills
• Venepuncture skills

Other Requirements

Essential criteria

• Ability to communicate with members of the public, colleagues and other health care providers.
• Presents self as courteous, respectful and helpful in line with Trust values.
• Ability to work effectively under direct supervision as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
