Care and support
The Community Liaison Officer will provide support to hard to engage residents to build community trust with public sector and local communities. Some of our hard to engage populations are migrant communities, veterans and those that are socially isolated. We are wanting to recruit someone who has extensive experience in working with various hard to reach groups to identify needs, create connections and through that build local cohesive communities. Facilitating forums where groups can come together and collaborate will be essential to ensuring our communities build back together from the impact of the pandemic. Liaising with private sector employees, local schools and the voluntary, community and faith sector to join up approaches in supporting hard to reach young families and people that live alone to connect to the place they live will be essential. Providing support around communications and developing ways that we can reach out to communities to empower people to volunteer, develop local initiatives and work together will be essential to support our communities to become more connected and cohesive.

The overwhelming community spirit experienced through social action throughout the pandemic, and the international subsequent events, has connected the most vulnerable in society. By the combined efforts of local people, public, private and voluntary sector services to get the right support in the right places, we are going to build on the positive changes we have made in how we live, learn, work and travel in Cheshire East.

The Council are wanting to increase capacity in our communities to support our most hard to reach communities recover collaboratively from the pandemic. Extensive experience in working with migrant populations is essential for this role as is building trust and understanding local needs. Having knowledge of cultural diversity, understanding equality, and having expertise in other languages would be highly desirable for this role.
