About the role:
The Community Partnerships Service, which sits within Housing and Communities is best placed to support, empower and protect individuals and communities and is now looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Community Safety Manager to lead our Community Safety Team.
This is an exciting partnership focussed role which will require you to lead and manage the Community Safety Team and support Reading's Community Safety Partnership with the implementation of its Community Safety and Serious Violence Strategy and Domestic Abuse & Safe Accommodation Strategy and wider community safety and engagement agenda.
Main Duties and responsibilities:
We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who is experienced in working in and leading a team in the field of Community Safety, with a strong knowledge of legislation relating to crime and disorder, serious violence and domestic abuse.
You will have experience of working successfully with internal and external partners to achieve shared outcomes through building and facilitating productive multi-agency partnerships, building trust, and maintaining credibility and trust with residents and community representatives.
You will also be highly efficient and competent at communicating with an open style with a wide-ranging audience with a good understanding of the different forms of consultation and participation.
You'll be part of a team that relies on each individual to play their part to the best of their ability. As well as the colleagues that you work closely with every day, you'll also be part of Team Reading, playing your personal part in making Reading a successful and vibrant place.

- Operational Delivery, including the planning and delivery of related projects, maximising funding streams for community safety, serious violence and domestic abuse related priorities, chairing relevant Community Safety Partnership subgroups as and when required and supporting Domestic Homicide Reviews.
