Do you want to make a difference and help achieve safer communities?
We are looking to recruit a forward thinking and committed Community Safety Officer to join a dynamic and experienced Community Safety Team. The post will play a vital role in how the council works with stakeholders to respond to community safety issues.
You will investigate reported incidents of anti-social behaviour, developing and co-ordinating a multi-agency response and agreeing interventions, initiating enforcement tools and powers where necessary.
You will identify risk and vulnerability and ensure victims are referred into appropriate support provision.
You will coordinate and implement preventative measures to help tackle and reduce harm that is caused by anti-social behaviour, crime and disorder.
You will work with statutory agencies and community and voluntary sector organisations to ensure the best outcome is achieved
As a motivated and dedicated officer with demonstrable experience of dealing with both low level and complex casework, you will:
Be an effective communicator with excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills.
Have a pragmatic and flexible approach in all aspects of your work.
Have a problem-solving approach to addressing anti-social behaviour, crime and disorder issues.
You'll have previous experience/knowledge of tackling issues within communities and knowledge of the role of local government, and multi-agency working with partners like the police and the social housing sector. Your 'can-do' approach will help you to achieve the right outcomes.
You will be adaptable in your style, happy to work flexibly to meet the needs of our customers and positive in your approach. You'll have strong administration skills, an attention to detail and previous experience in using system databases.
This role presents an exciting opportunity for personal and professional development that can lead to a number of career progression routes. Candidates demonstrating the right approach along with the calibre of qualities and skills required, will be supported with training and development opportunities to strengthen their ability to undertake the role.
