Experienced Specialist Social Worker Post - Salary up to £45,718 per annum

Are you passionate about protecting vulnerable children and supporting young people through critical life transitions? Do you thrive in a fast-paced, purposeful environment where your decisions matter?

Do you have a strong working knowledge of private fostering regulations and the legal frameworks surrounding homeless 16/17-year-old? If so you may be the social worker we are looking for.

We are offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced and motivated Social Worker to join our dynamic Children's Services team in a newly developed specialist role focussed on Private Fostering and Youth Homelessness.

What You'll Do
  • Take the lead on private fostering assessments, ensuring every child in informal care arrangements is safe, supported, and thriving.
  • Provide frontline intervention to 16- and 17-year-olds facing homelessness, offering practical solutions, emotional support, and long-term planning.
  • Work collaboratively with housing teams, health professionals, schools, and families to deliver holistic, child-focused services.
  • Carry out statutory assessments under the Children Act, identify needs, and deliver meaningful care plans that change lives.
  • Advocate for young people in crisis, helping them find stability, safety, and a voice in a system designed to protect them.
  • Work alongside our partner agencies in promoting and developing an understanding of private fostering within the community ensuring that all children who are in such an arrangement are referred through to EHASH.
  • You will report directly to the strategic lead for private fostering and youth homelessness.
