Are you a visionary leader ready to make a real difference? Powys County Council is seeking a dynamic, visible, and inspirational Head of Housing to join our newly energised senior leadership team. Together, we’re driving forward our ambition to make Powys a Stronger, Fairer, and Greener County.
Reporting directly to the Chief Officer – Place, this pivotal role offers the opportunity to lead a high-performing, fully resourced housing service through a period of exciting transformation and growth. You’ll be at the heart of strategic decision-making, supporting councillors, navigating complex financial and political landscapes, and ensuring robust governance and compliance.
What You’ll Lead:
- Housing strategy, including housing markets
- Improving housing standards across all tenures
- Housing development, including a major and growing Council-house building programme
- Management of the Council’s housing portfolio, including tenancy and estate management and repairs and maintenance
- Homelessness strategy and services
- Resettlement services
- Housing compliance and quality assurance
- Financial strategy and responsibility for the Housing Revenue Account and Housing General Fund
- Gypsy and traveller sites

Salary range
- £79,968 - £87,755 per year
