At Lewisham Council, we believe in building on potential. As a Home Ownership Officer, your ability to proactively manage a variety of Major Works programmes and home ownership functions within procedural & legislative deadlines could have a real impact on people's lives.

What's the role?

As a Home Ownership Officer, you will be responsible for providing a high quality, customer focused and responsive service to Lewisham Council's leaseholders.

If successful, the main duties of your role will be to:
  • Consult with our leaseholders under statutory and non-statutory consultation. Issuing Section 20 Notices and associated bills while keeping robust records of each contract.
  • Build good working relationships with the local Tenant and Residents' Associations.
  • Respond to correspondence and complaints and provide drafts for member's enquiries and take legal action as necessary. Attend Court and out of hours meetings as required.
  • Investigate complex cases, work collaboratively with other departments, partners and stakeholders to ensure multi agency responses to complex cases and carry out home / estate visits / inspections in a lone working capacity as required.

What we're looking for

Working flexibility and someone who has excellent customer service skills. An eye for accuracy and attention to detail. You will be keen to resolve enquiries and have good collaboration skills liaising with residents and other areas of the business. You are proactive and have experience of managing leasehold issues as well as having great people skills.

Location

The job is based in Laurence House, 1 Catford Road, London, SE6 4RU, but we operate a hybrid approach where you will be required to work both in the office and from home on a regular basis.

Salary

£39,150 - £40,344 per annum (SO1)

N.B: All appointments will be offered at the minimum spinal column point (SCP) for the grade of the role. The only exception to this will be if we agree to match a current salary (up to the maximum of the scale), which is subject to evidential proof.
