About The Service

Housing Options provides advice and assistance under the Council's corporate duty to help clients who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.The service provides assistance to vulnerable people when they are in greatest need.

About the job

The post holder will be expected to provide advice and assistance at first point of contact, to clients who have applied as homeless to the Council.This includes responding to queries through telephone and email contact and generally supporting the roles of the Frontline Assessment Officers by assisting with progressing homeless applications through investigations and enquiries.

What We Are Looking For From You

Experience of working with the public, in a housing related environment will be an advantage. You will need the skills to cope under pressure in a busy and challenging environment.

This post is temporary until 31st March 2026.

Internal candidates who wish to apply for this position on a secondment basis must obtain approval prior to application using Form SEC1 (4.C.081). Requests may only be approved by the relevant Director/ Assistant Director/ Chief Officer or senior nominated officer graded no lower than OM2 or in the case of schools based staff the Headteacher / Governing Body.
