Homeless Prevention Assistant - Housing Solutions

Salary: £28,344 - £31,719 per annum

Grade: C

Permanent Contract

37 Hours per week

Do you have passion and drive to help those currently faced with homelessness? Do you thrive in working in a challenging and fast-moving environment? Can you demonstrate a keen eye for detail and accurate record keeping? If so, we would love to hear from you. We are seeking an exceptional and committed individual to join us as a Homeless Prevention Assistant. The role is a varied and exciting opportunity to support the Temporary Accommodation Team within the Housing Solutions Service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitoring and processing all invoices/payments requested by the service.
  • Being the first point of contact for our suppliers regarding all payment issues.
  • Liaising closely with financial departments to ensure payments are made quickly and efficiently.
  • Responsible for the daily administration and monitoring of various reports within the service.
  • Supporting the various teams within the service with financial and administration tasks.
  • To provide general administrative support to the Housing Solutions Service including undertaking word processing tasks such as letter and reports as required.
  • To ensure that the date input into IT systems is accurate for the Council to report on Homelessness activity and effectively assist the government in its work to capture the true picture of homelessness and its impact on society.
Skills and experience required:
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Able to keep accurate and factual case notes and statistics.
  • Able to prioritise workload and work on own initiative.
  • Able to problem solve and find solutions.
  • Able to organise and undertake administrative tasks within a deadline.
  • Experience of working within a financial setting, processing invoices and making payments.
