The Service & Team:
This role sits within the Homeless Prevention Service, which is dedicated to reducing homelessness and providing tailored support to individuals and families in housing need. You will be responsible for the line management of one of the five Casework teams.
The Role:
As part of this role, you will lead a team that takes Housing Act applications from members of the public who are threatened with or already homeless, carrying out detailed assessments to determine the Council's legal duties under homelessness legislation. This includes ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and delivering fair, consistent decisions.
You will lead and support a team of Homeless Prevention Caseworkers, ensuring:
An enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check will be required for this position.
Working Pattern:
Monday to Friday, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm.
Hybrid working arrangement combining home and office-based work, with an expectation to attend the offices (throughout Cornwall) and work alongside the Homeless Prevention teams at least two days per week.
