What You'll Be Doing
We have a big vision for Housing Services where we will work deep within our neighbourhoods and communities to improve our services with people who use and rely on them and we are looking for a Homeless Prevention Adviser who's proactive and passionate about housing equality.
As a homelessness prevention adviser, you will play a crucial role in preventing homelessness by providing a high-quality casework and assessment service; completing timely and accurate assessments in accordance with relevant legislation.
You will provide proactive, strengths-based casework and joint working, personalised housing plans are actioned for households to move seamlessly and successfully, at the most appropriate time, to an affordable home suitable for their needs that is sustainable.
Visits will be necessary, as required, to see applicants at home or in other community locations.
This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and will require an Enhanced DBS.

You'll bring an enthusiasm to support some of the most vulnerable households in the borough; and ideally with knowledge of homelessness legislation. You will have experience working in partnership with other agencies to achieve positive outcomes for residents. You also understand data protection legislation with a high level of ICT literacy.
