Homelessness
Full Time / 37 Hours Per Week / Permanent
At Leicester City Council, our Homelessness Prevention and Support teams work in a fast-paced environment to ensure that we try and stop homelessness from impacting on individuals and families. We achieve this by adhering to national legislation and guidance on homelessness and our own local well-developed policies and procedures.
Would you like the opportunity to join our team as a Homelessness Support Officer?
You'll play a key role in providing administrative support for customers who have housing related support needs. You'll work alongside a team of Temporary Accommodation Officers and Transitions Workers who provide the front-line services to our customers.
No matter what role you do in our service area, no two days are the same and this is what keeps working with us exciting.
Join us and you'll find yourself working in a supportive team who are passionate, dedicated, and dynamic - working incredibly hard to ensure everyone has a place to call home. You'll work mainly from the office based across the city as required and occasionally from home.
You'll be able to work autonomously with minimal supervision and using your own initiative. Using excellent communication and interpersonal skills, you'll be positive about working with the homeless and the associated challenges. You'll have an analytical eye for detail when looking at data. Highly organised, you'll be able to work under pressure, prioritise and manage your time in a demanding environment.
Most importantly, a good sense of humour will help.
So, are you ready to take that step and make that difference?
What we can offer you
As well as the satisfaction of helping to improve thousands of lives across Leicester, you can look forward to a work environment that encourages a healthy work/life balance. You'll enjoy generous annual leave, membership of the Local Government Pension Scheme and the option of flexible working. We'll also give you the chance to develop your skills and expertise with a variety of training and development opportunities. In addition, you can choose from several flexible benefits, including discounts on city buses and trains. For an illustrative value of your benefits package, take a look at our benefits calculator.
