Position: Adult Homelessness Support Worker
Location: St Albans
Salary: £25,857 per annum
Hours: Full-time (37.5) hours per week
Join our compassionate team at Open Door, a night shelter supporting people experiencing homelessness. We provide a safe, inclusive environment where individuals feel respected, supported and empowered to work towards greater independence.
The Role
Full-time 37.5 hours per week, worked on a rota across weekdays and weekends.
Late shift: 2pm-10pm
About You
You are caring, adaptable and confident communicating with people from diverse backgrounds. You work well both independently and as part of a team, and you are committed to delivering respectful, inclusive support.

The Role
- Assess needs and create personalised support plans
- Promote life skills such as budgeting and cleaning
- Support individuals to access services, appointments and opportunities
- Provide trauma-informed, person-centred support
- Carry out building checks to ensure safety and security
- Work collaboratively with another Support Worker on shift
