Adult Homelessness Support Worker - Open Door Night Shelter

St Albans | £25,857 | Full-time (37.5 hrs)

Join our caring team at Open Door, a night shelter supporting adults experiencing homelessness . This role is focused on housing support; crisis support and helping people move away from rough sleeping - not domiciliary care or elderly care . You will help create a safe, inclusive environment where people feel respected, supported and empowered to move away from rough sleeping.

The Role
  • Assess needs and create personalised support plans
  • Support individuals to access housing, benefits, health services and other appointments
  • Promote essential life skills such as budgeting and cleaning
  • Provide trauma-informed, person-centred support
  • Carry out safety and security checks across the building
  • Work collaboratively with another Support Worker on shift
Hours

Full-time rota across weekdays and weekends.
Late shift: 2pm-10pm
