Offering a Workclub during the week which supports businesses and their employees, and a high-end event space in the evenings and weekends, we maximize the yield of the 22,000 sqft Old Sessions House in Clerkenwell.

Responsibilities

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic House Manager to lead our Front of House team at Knotel Old Sessions House. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the House, ensuring exceptional member experience, and creating a welcoming atmosphere for all members and guests. This role requires strong leadership skills, excellent organizational abilities, and a passion for delivering the highest level of service.
  • Lead, train, and manage the front of house team to ensure a high standard of member experience and professionalism.
  • Oversee the reception area, ensuring it is consistently clean, organized, and well-maintained.
  • Develop and implement procedures and policies to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the front of house operations.
  • Handle escalated member and visitor inquiries and complaints, providing solutions in a timely and effective manner.
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth communication and collaboration, especially concerning member needs and House operations.
  • Manage staff shifts, ensuring adequate coverage during all operating hours.
  • Monitor and manage inventory of office supplies, ensuring necessary items are stocked and ordered as needed.
  • Prepare and maintain reports on front of house activities, member feedback, and operational efficiency.
  • Conduct regular team meetings and training sessions to keep the front of house team informed and motivated.
  • Support with the execution of events, ensuring all logistical details are handled.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Knotel's services, offerings, and events to effectively assist members and guests.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall success of the House.
Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in a front of house management or supervisory role, preferably in a high-end office or hospitality environment.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and comfortable with technology.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor, with a positive and proactive attitude.
  • Ability to handle high-pressure situations and resolve conflicts effectively.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work environments.
