Your role is all about supporting the neighbourhood's team, so that we can give the best service possible to our customers, whilst being cost effective and compliant.

As a Housing Assistant, a typical day might include:
  • Supporting and assisting the Neighbourhood Managers.
  • Providing administrative support to the wider Neighbourhoods team, to ensure an efficient and effective service to our customers.
  • Assisting in ensuring we are compliant with our heating and electrical servicing activity, communicating with customers and contractors, and following relevant processes and protocols.
  • Assisting with invoicing and contract management to ensure financial compliance.
  • Supporting our procurement processes, ensuring we offer value for money.
  • Taking an active role in the day-to-day running of our office spaces and facilities.
  • Taking ownership of communal access, key management, and garage enquiries.
Some of the experience/skills we need to consider you:
  • Computer literate with a good working knowledge of software such as word and excel - you will need to use these to do the job.
  • Good organisation skills with the ability to independently achieve deadlines.
  • You'll have the ability to handle information, securely, timely and accurately including producing clear written reports, letters and minutes.
  • A strong customer focussed approach both externally and internally.
  • Be committed to working as part of our team.
  • Be motivated, adaptable, determined, and able to work on your own initiative to resolve problems and achieve positive solutions.
  • An ability to communicate effectively, with influencing and negotiation skills.
  • Resilience. Working in social housing is a challenging but rewarding career, you'll be helping to bring real change to our customer's lives.
