About The Service

Are you self-motivated and committed to the delivery of affordable housing? As well as building homes again, Cardiff Council is enabling other providers to increase the number of affordable homes to meet significant demand. We need the right people to ensure all our aspirations are delivered. This is an exciting time to join the Housing Development section, and we are currently recruiting a Housing Enabling Officer to join our team, who can work with a wide range of partners to maximise opportunities to deliver affordable housing.

About the job

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the Enabling Team in the delivery of a wide range of various housing development and strategic housing projects and policies to address housing need in Cardiff. You will work closely with our wide range of internal and external partners, such as housing associations and private developers in supporting and maximising the provision of affordable housing across the City.

What We Are Looking For From You

We are looking for a professional and organised person who is a good communicator and can work as part of the broader Housing Development Team to enable the delivery of high-quality affordable homes. You will have a track record of working in a social housing environment, an understanding of facilitating affordable housing within a local government setting and excellent communication and negotiation skills. You will have experience of working in partnership with other organisations as well as a good knowledge of the Welsh Government's legislation and procedures on the development of affordable housing.

The post is hybrid working (office and working from home).
