Greenacre are pleased to be supporting a social housing organisation, based in North London, with their recruitment of a HHSRS assessor.

Through their plans, reporting and operational activity, they seek to earn and sustain the trust of key stakeholders including their customers, colleagues, statutory and voluntary partners, suppliers, lenders and others.
The ideal candidate will hold an accredited HHSRS assessor qualification and be proficient in evaluating housing conditions to ensure they comply with health and safety standards
What will you do in the role?
- Carry out detailed inspections of residential properties to assess compliance with HHSRS, identifying any potential hazards that could affect the health and safety of tenants or residents.
- Use the HHSRS risk assessment framework to determine the severity and likelihood of hazards, providing a comprehensive report for each property.
- Identify and evaluate a range of hazards, including but not limited to damp, mould, overcrowding, fire safety, structural defects, electrical safety and health related issues.
- Document findings clearly, recording evidence of hazards observed during assessments, including photographs, measurements and descriptions.
- Advise landlords, property owners or local authorities on appropriate actions to mitigate or remove identified hazards.
- Provide guidance on compliance with relevant health and safety regulations, standards and legal requirements.
- Prepare detailed reports outlining the findings of HHSRS assessments, hazard ratings and recommendations for improvements or remedial actions.
- Ensure all reports are clear, accurate and compliant with legal and regulatory standards.
- Prepare reports to be submitted to regulatory bodies, property owners or local councils when necessary.
Skills and experience
- HNC Building studies or equivalent relevant experience coupled with accredited HHSRS assessor qualification.
- Someone with a sound knowledge of health and safety, building regulations, disabled access, fire and CDM legislation.
- A strong attention to detail with the ability to identify and assess potential hazards.
- Ability to interpret complex regulations and guidelines and apply them to practical situations.
- Someone with excellent report writing and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage workloads effectively and meet deadlines.
- Have strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex issues to tenants, property owners and colleagues
- An individual with a commitment to promoting health, safety and well being in housing environments.
