The job itself
We currently have an opportunity to join the East area housing team as a Housing Management Officer on a fixed term basis until 31sr March 2026. Do you like working with people? And enjoy a challenge? You will be joining a well-established supportive team, in a varied role, where no two days are the same.
This role is predominantly based in the County Hall, Beverley; however, the council has adopted blended working and as a team we are happy to work in the office and at home, its also expected that the majority of your time will be spent out on patch visiting residents and applicants in their homes.
This post will be working 37 hours across Monday to Friday
The post holder will be responsible for the management of properties in a specifically defined geographical area. The role includes the allocation of properties in line with the Council's allocation policy as well as general estate and tenancy management and the delivery of housing options advice.
The successful candidate will be expected to deal with all aspects of tenancy management including dealing with anti-social behaviour in relation to the properties owned and managed by the Council. This will include assessing vulnerability and linking in with multi agency teams to resolve issues, and taken enforcement action when necessary.
The successful candidate will also be expected to engage with residents on their patch, to arrange estate walkabouts, attend residents' meetings and encourage feedback to improve the service delivered to our residents.
Good oral and written skills are essential as is the ability to work under pressure. The post holder should, following the requisite training, demonstrate the ability to work well as part of a team as well as the ability to work independently.
It is essential that the post holder can demonstrate that they have experience in a front line role and have knowledge of housing related issues and experience in similarly related role. The post holder must hold a valid driving licence and have access to a vehicle.
