As a Housing Manger- Income, you'll thrive to deliver an effective and efficient customer focussed Housing Management Service, ensuring maximum performance in accordance with the targets, standards and policies of Housing Leeds. The Housing Manager Income is a key role, responsible for managing teams who are delivering Income Management functions, including Former Tenants Arrears, Right to Buy, Paralegal and Financial Management.

About you

As a Housing Manager Income, you will bring to the role:
  • Recognised Housing related degree level qualification or equivalent relevant experience
  • Recent and extensive experience of managing teams at a senior level in a housing related context including motivation and staff development
  • Able to develop and maintain strong and effective relationships with key stakeholders including members, external and internal partners and tenants.
  • Proven track record of managing resources within defined budgets, budget preparation and management in accordance with Financial Regulations
  • Able to develop innovative strategic solutions to varied and complex issues
About the role

As our Housing Manger Income, you'll play a key role in supporting the Area teams to maximise Income Collection. You'll have a proven track record in generating Income and managing Teams that support Income generation.

As our next Housing Manager- Income you'll be integral to the Neighbourhood Services team. You will work with Housing teams on a variety of areas and projects. You'll need flexibility to adapt to a changing working environment and be able take on urgent working requests. Using your knowledge of current social housing and Income Management, you will help develop innovative solutions to varied and complex problems alongside developing effective working relationships with a variety of people to achieve defined outcomes.

Job purpose

To lead and manage an efficient, customer service focused Housing Management service, in order to maximise performance and achieve continuous improvement.

Responsibilities
  • To manage the delivery of housing management services within a geographical area or in within the Neighbourhood Service areas of Income Management, Tenant and Community Involvement, Lettings and Tenancy Management Policy, and Older Persons
  • To manage the delivery of partnership working on behalf of housing services
  • To manage and develop staff to deliver key council priorities and continuously improve the offer to customers.
  • To develop positive working relationships with key stakeholders including: customers, elected members and other partner
  • To develop a people-orientated solutions-focussed approach to dealing with customers, quickly and professionally.
  • To manage and monitor budgets, risks and associated audit
  • To contribute to and deliver service improvement
  • To contribute to and implement performance management frameworks to ensure key performance indicators are achieved and outcomes inform service improvement & review
  • To lead, review and improve policies and strategies in line with current legislation and best
  • To contribute to maximising opportunities to improve local service delivery using collaborative arrangements with appropriate stakeholders and

  • Detailed knowledge of Landlord's statutory responsibilities
  • Considerable knowledge of current Local Democratic processes and understanding of the political context
  • Up to date knowledge of issues affecting the social housing sector and the ability to identify and manage risk in relation to strategic and operational objectives
  • Detailed understanding of the principles of strategic development
  • Considerable knowledge of current housing legislation and policies
  • A detailed understanding of key stakeholders, partners and third sector organisations

Experience required
  • Recent and extensive experience of managing teams at a senior level in a housing related context including motivation and staff development
