The vacancy
We currently have a vacancy for Housing Officers based in Herefordshire. This is a fast-paced challenging role, and the successful candidate will be a talented and resilient person with a passion for housing management.
The successful candidate will provide an effective, customer-focused service to tenants, specifically dealing with anti-social behaviour, income collection and all aspects of tenancy and estate management, as well as ensuring our homes are maintained to a good standard. Working as part of vibrant Housing team you will be assisted by our Senior Housing Officer when dealing with complex cases, helping to prepare court paperwork and contributing to Team KPIs. You will also work closely with other teams across Connexus and our partner agencies to meet corporate targets and responsibilities. This is a busy role, so you must have first-class administration skills and a strong work ethic.
As a minimum, you will need to demonstrate:

Key Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
- Experience of working in the Social Housing Sector
- Knowledge of landlord and tenant law and practice
- Experience of using a wide variety of tools to resolve anti-social behaviour, including relevant partner agencies
- Experience of Income collection and rent arrears procedures
- Experience of working with tenants and other customers who are often vulnerable, in a changing and challenging environment.
- Ability to deal with difficult situations, demonstrating good negotiating skills and excellent customer service
- Understanding of health & safety responsibilities including lone working
- A full driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes
