Housing Officer - Estates Services Team
Permanent
Grade 4 - £33,366 - £40,476 (consultation grade - subject to formal evaluation under the Pay Equity Review)
Working 36.5 Hours per week
We are looking for someone with great motivational and leadership skills to join the estate services team and support the improvement of estate-based services to our tenants and leaseholders.
A key responsibility of the role is working closely and constructively with colleagues across City Housing, the wider council, partners, contractors, external stakeholders and tenants/leaseholders.
We are looking for someone who enjoys working as part of a team, is committed, motivational, enthusiastic and dynamic to develop and improve our estate-based services to our tenants and leaseholders. Supporting service improvements across the city is a fundamental driver for success in this role linked to the framework set out in the Social Housing Regulation Act 2023. We need someone with a passion for the housing service, and the resilience to identify and deliver on improvements.
The role will include a range of responsibilities including the direct line management of a large team (deployed across several locations), supporting workforce development, developing service improvements that enhance estate-based services, monitoring performance and implementing action plans, inspecting and monitoring high rise blocks and housing land, and responding to councillor, tenant and leaseholder enquiries.

This is part of a public facing service within housing management, and you will have the desire to provide a first-class customer experience. You will need excellent communication skills as you will be working in and around neighbourhoods interacting with tenants/leaseholders and estate-based teams.
We have several vacancies based in our busy inner city housing estates (for example Ladywood, Nechells, Newtown, Alum Rock), and also housing estates on the South side of Birmingham.
