The successful candidate will be required to speak English to an appropriate standard.
The successful candidate will be required to be available outside of services normal working hours as part of a standby rota to respond to out of hours service needs. A standardised standby payment will be made in respect of these duties.
This post requires a Basic Criminal Record Check

1 0.5 FTE post working job share, Week 1, Monday, Tuesday and Week 2, Monday Tuesday , Wednesday 18.5 hours
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual who is committed to preventing homelessness to join our Housing Options Team . The role will involve providing a comprehensive, customer focussed housing options service to enable the council to prevent homelessness and meet its statutory duties .
You will work in as part of a busy team, managing a varied caseload and working across partners to find innovate ways to prevent homelessness. A key part of the role is assessing customers in line with the relevant legislation and supporting people to resolve their housing issues. You will be required to work with a range of customers both face to face and over the phone , providing appropriate advice and assistance , in addition to undertaking enquires with landlords, families and other professionals . There will be a strong focus on preventing homelessness, partnership working and delivering a high-quality customer service.
You will require strong communication skills both verbally and in writing and have working knowledge of Homelessness and other relevant legislation . You will be an excellent team player with the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines. Experience of casework and advocacy is essential . A level 4 qualification or relevant experience is essential for the post.
