Shift Pattern: Between 09:00-19:00, including 1 weekend in 3

About the Role
We are looking for a Housing Officer (Days) to join our accommodation team. This is a varied, hands-on role working across multiple properties to ensure they are safe, clean, and welcoming.
You will support people living in temporary accommodation, helping them maintain their accommodation, develop independence, and reduce the risk of returning to homelessness. The role involves lone working at times, but you will always be part of a supportive wider team.

About the Role
We are looking for a Housing Officer (Days) to join our accommodation team. This is a varied, hands-on role working across multiple properties to ensure they are safe, clean, and welcoming.
You will support people living in temporary accommodation, helping them maintain their accommodation, develop independence, and reduce the risk of returning to homelessness. The role involves lone working at times, but you will always be part of a supportive wider team.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accommodation for new customers, including cleaning, minor repairs, redecorating, and furniture assembly
- Maintain high standards of health, fire, and building safety
- Carry out regular property inspections, fire checks, meter readings, and deep cleans
- Respond to customer accommodation needs and support tenancy sustainment
- Collect rent and utility charges and support customers with budgeting and debt issues
- Monitor and respond to anti-social behaviour to maintain safe environments
- Liaise positively with customers, colleagues, and local communities
- Maintain accurate records and follow organisational policies and procedures
You will be:
- Confident working independently and as part of a team
- Calm, resilient, and professional under pressure
- Practical, organised, and solution-focused
- Respectful, non-judgemental, and committed to equality and inclusion
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
- Basic DIY skills (e.g. painting, flat-pack furniture)
- Good IT and communication skills
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle with business insurance
- Willingness to undergo an Enhanced DBS check
- Experience in housing, homelessness, or supported accommodation
- Knowledge of Telford & Wrekin
- Experience working with vulnerable people or residential settings
- £25,667.20 per annum (annualised pay, paid monthly)
- Statutory annual leave plus 1 recognition day after 1 year
- Mileage allowance (45p per mile for work travel)
