Fixed Term until April 2026 - 36 hours per week

Job Purpose

Croydon Council Young People's Service is recruiting for a newly created interim Housing Officer role to develop housing support team for our Care Experienced Young People.

About You

The post holders will provide additional support whilst working in collaboration with existing services to provide bespoke support arrangements tailored to the needs of our Care Experienced Young People. The post holders will help to enable and empower Care Experienced Young People towards independent living in sustained tenancies within the community. It is essential for post holders to be able to navigate difficult situations relating to housing matters effectively and sensitively, taking into consideration the needs of Care Experienced Young People. The team will be located within the Young People's Service which contains social workers and personal advisors who are the allocated workers Care Experienced Young People. The role will involve working directly with Care Experienced Young People, the Young People's Service teams, Croydon's housing and benefits departments and other relevant partner agencies to provide creative and solution focussed support to address a wide range of housing related needs. This is an exciting opportunity to work in newly created team.
