The Vacancy
HOUSING OFFICER (HOUSING WITH CARE)
Based at Endurance House, Histon. The post holder will also work at each of our three Housing with Care Schemes for at least one day each week, based on business needs.
Hybrid Working - minimum 1 day per week at our Head Office
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join CHS as a Housing Officer (Housing with Care) within our Community Support Services Team.
CHS sets out to deliver a high quality housing management service to help our tenants meet their needs and improve their quality of life.
What you'll do
You will be the principal link between our tenants and applicants and the Housing, Property and Care Services Teams.
You will be involved in letting empty homes, income collection, service charge budgeting and queries, tenancy management, offering and co-ordinating support for those affected by domestic abuse and safeguarding risks, tackling anti-social behaviour and encouraging customer involvement.
You will regularly review Fire Risk Safety Assessments, site fire processes and procedures across all three Schemes.
You will be responsible for the Schemes' Cleaners and Housekeepers; participate in the recruitment and selection process and identify training and development needs.

About you
You will have
- A minimum of one year's experience of delivering a housing service within a social housing environment or relevant experience in a similar environment.
- A working knowledge of social housing law and benefits
- An understanding of housing policy, tenancy assignment, domestic abuse, anti-social behaviour issues and dementia
- A strong focus on excellent customer service and problem solving.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to confidently contribute to continuously improving the housing management team
- Confident user of Microsoft Windows and Office (including Word) for the production of letters, reports, e-mails etc.
- Experience of using housing management IT system or other databases.
- Experience of managing others
- Full UK driving licence, business insurance and use of a car for work purposes
