About the role:

Working as part of the Homelessness Triage team - as a first point of contact for homeless persons.

Responsible for delivering a comprehensive housing options service within an Area Housing Communities Team. Conduct housing assessments, provide practical advice, and develop Personal Housing Plans to prevent homelessness. Act as case manager, liaising with public, private, and voluntary housing providers. Maintain knowledge of the local housing market to offer realistic solutions, secure accommodation when needed, and make decisions in line with legislation and guidance to support households effectively.

What you will do:

-Act as Duty Housing Officer as part of the Triage team, responding to street homelessness, assessing vulnerability, and arranging temporary accommodation when required.

-Deliver housing options services daily as part of an Area Housing Communities Team, ensuring comprehensive support for clients.

-Conduct housing assessments and case management, providing practical advice and liaising with housing providers across public, private, and voluntary sectors.

Prevent homelessness and secure accommodation, using Personal Housing Plans, landlord engagement, and proactive interventions to maintain or find suitable housing.

-Manage homelessness duties and decisions, ensuring compliance with legislation and guidance while coordinating with internal teams and external partners.

-Maintain strong local housing market knowledge, building relationships with landlords, agents, and providers to offer realistic housing solutions.
