Housing Options Officer

Starting salary between £30780 and £37068 per annum (plus cost of living)

Based at King's Court Council Office, Kings Lynn, Norfolk.

Every day, people across West Norfolk face housing challenges that can have a profound impact on their lives. As a Housing Options Officer, you will play a vital role in helping individuals and families navigate these difficult situations, providing advice, support and practical solutions that can prevent homelessness and create better futures. As part of a team, you will have the opportunity to make a real difference to our community when they need it most.

This is a challenging, rewarding and varied role where no two days are the same. You will work directly with people whose circumstances are often complex, assessing housing needs, developing personalised housing plans, negotiating with landlords and partner agencies, and helping households access the support they need. You will balance compassion with professionalism, using your problem-solving skills to achieve positive outcomes and ensure we meet our statutory duties under homelessness legislation.

We welcome applications from individuals with experience in mental health or supporting victim-survivors of domestic abuse; however, strong customer service skills are essential. You will be resilient, empathetic and driven by a desire to help others. Whether your experience has been gained in housing, welfare, social care or another customer-focused environment, you will bring excellent communication skills, a practical approach to problem solving and the ability to manage a varied caseload. Most importantly, you will share our commitment to supporting vulnerable residents and delivering high-quality services that genuinely improve lives.

Subject to a satisfactory enhanced Disclosure, through the Disclosure and Barring Service.
