Role: Housing Options Officer
Location: Chorley
Contract: Part Time (3 days/21.75 hours - Monday to Wednesday) / Permanent
Salary: £32,076 - £34,834 (pro rata)

We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated and forward-thinking individual to join our busy Housing Options team at Chorley Council. The team is responsible for the Council's statutory homelessness and housing needs service and we are seeking an enthusiastic individual who can be proactive, creative and has a passion to help people.

The team is responsible for the Council's statutory homelessness and housing needs service and we are seeking an enthusiastic individual who can be proactive, creative and has a passion to help people.
What you'll be getting up to
- You will be responsible for a range of functions, primarily relating to supporting clients who are homeless and threatened with Homelessness.
- You will have a caseload of households that you will be responsible for, working with them to secure the best possible outcome to address their housing needs. You will be required to attend a variety of multi-agency meetings and forums, working in partnership with voluntary and statutory agencies to find the best housing solutions.
- You will work closely with accommodation providers across all tenures to help relieve and prevent homelessness.
- You should have a good knowledge of relevant legislation and the causes and implications of homelessness.
- The ability to work with a range of partners and have effective communication skills.
- You will have excellent communication skills and will be able to manage customer expectations, working with customers to resolve their housing need.
- You will be required to work at least one or two full days per week in the office to participate in the Duty Rota.
- Successful applicants will be subject to a DBS check (applied and paid for by the Council).
