Role specifics - You must hold a full, current and valid driving licence and a vehicle with a current valid MOT certificate. You will also need adequate vehicle insurance cover to comply with the council's requirements, in line with the Travel Costs Reimbursement Policy

The Role
The post holder will deliver high quality housing options and advice to homeless households and others in housing need.
You will provide all aspects of casework from contact / initial application, assessment, focus on the provision of prevention and relief assistance and decision making in accordance with homeless legislation.
You'll be liaising with local landlords and Estate Agents, viewing and negating rentals as well as assisting vulnerable customers to access and engage in services; offering advice and support on all options; advocating and negotiating on behalf of customers.
You'll work closely with other agencies externally and internally in order to provide options, prevent and relieve homelessness and to provide for other household needs.
About You
The successful candidate will be an excellent team player and have excellent communication and networking skills to build positive relationships and support customers to take ownership in addressing their housing and other needs.
You'll have understanding, knowledge and awareness of housing need, homelessness issues, relevant legislation and associated service provision.
You will have excellent casework practice and strive for best practice in support of the team and service as a whole, with the ability to manage your own caseload.
You should have initiative, be effective in organising, planning and prioritising and be able to demonstrate a track record of making appropriate decisions and securing positive outcomes with complex casework.
