Housing Support Officer

Basildon based with a balance of home and office working

£27,880 per year (pro rata)

37.5 hours per week

Temporary position up to 31st March 2026

We have a great opportunity to join our team in the role of Housing Support Officer. The Housing 360 team is looking to recruit for the role of Housing Support Officer (HSO) in the South East - We manage a variety of compliance tasks across the country and are comprised of around 20 staff. You will cover properties in Essex and the South East of England. The role is largely lone working with opportunities to spend time with other members of the team and access to a support network. This is an exciting time to join the team as you will be helping to shape the team's processes by looking at the way we work in a new light. During your working day you will be visiting multiple properties, including houses and flats, within your geographical area. You will be Inspecting flat front doors and communal fire doors for the purpose of fire safety and completing Health and Safety inspections in our properties; adding signage where necessary and reporting concerns/repairs. You are provided with a work van and the necessary equipment to report your inspections. Full training will be provided.

The role of Housing Support Officer will include:
  • Completing property inspections
  • Completing health and safety compliance checks
  • Updating resident information forms
  • Regular contact with customers within their properties or while in the community, escalating any concerns to the local Housing team
  • Extensive travel throughout the geographical area covered
Skills and experiences:
  • Previous experience within either customer service or property inspection
  • Self motivated with attention to detail and the ability to work alone or as part of a team
  • Knowledge of compliance and health and safety
  • Great organisational skills and ability to manage and prioritise your own diary
  • Clear communication skills
  • Ability to complete tasks within set deadlines
  • Competent using mobile technology to complete worksheets
  • Travel is a requirement of the role, therefore a full valid driving licence is essential
