We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Supported Accommodation Support Officer to join our Ofsted-registered supported accommodation scheme for looked after children and young people aged 16 and older. This role is vital in supporting young people during their transition to adulthood and independence.
Key Responsibilities: Provide direct support to young people in our care, promoting the development of essential life skills for independent living. Facilitate workshops and one-to-one sessions focused on practical life skills including budgeting, cooking, household management, and personal care . Support young people with education, employment and training opportunities Assist young people in accessing appropriate services and benefits. Maintain accurate records and contribute to needs assessments. Work collaboratively with social services, education providers, and other relevant agencies Provide emotional support and guidance to young people during their transition to adulthood. Ensure compliance with Ofsted standards and safeguarding requirements.
Essential Skills and Experience Experience: working with looked after children or vulnerable young people. Knowledge of the needs of young people transitioning from care to independence. Understanding of safeguarding principles and procedures. Ability to build trusting relationships with young people. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong organisational abilities and record-keeping skills. Patience, resilience and a non-judgmental approach.
