Helping People Rebuild Their Lives

Do you have a passion for supporting people with complex needs to rebuild their lives and regain independence? We're looking for a part time Housing Support Worker to join our small, dedicated Complex Needs Services in Islington, helping individuals who have experienced homelessness and challenges such as alcohol dependency to settle into safe accommodation and work towards a brighter future.

In this role you will work across two schemes within the Holloway Area.

About the Role

You'll provide practical and emotional support, working with local agencies and partners to ensure individuals receive the help they need. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Supporting individuals to develop life skills such as budgeting, cooking, and tenancy management.
  • Helping new tenants settle in and access relevant housing and social care services.
  • Providing personalised support and advocacy, focusing on trauma recovery and long-term goals.
  • Building strong relationships with local statutory and voluntary agencies to ensure seamless support.
  • Preparing individuals for move-on accommodation, working with housing providers to secure next steps.
  • Keeping accurate records to evidence progress and meet service requirements.
About You

We're looking for someone with:
Experience supporting individuals with life skills or in a similar support role
Knowledge of statutory housing and community services
Experience working with agencies and statutory organisations in housing/social care
Understanding of homelessness, rough sleeping, and the challenges individuals face
Experience supporting vulnerable individuals with trauma and complex needs
A compassionate, proactive, and person-centred approach, combined with effective attention to detail and the ability to use your initiative.

This role requires an Enhanced DBS check.

Please note that this role may involve working with customers who have experienced trauma and adverse experiences and who may have complex emotional needs. As a result, they may at times display behaviour that challenges services.
