WAKING NIGHTS - Housing Support Worker - Young People (Aged 18 years upwards)

Location: Lambeth

Join us in shaping brighter futures for young people.

We're looking for passionate individuals to join our new and transformative service supporting young people as they transition into adulthood. If you believe in the power of compassionate, person-centred support and want to make a real difference, we'd love to hear from you.

About the Service

This new service provides a safe, stable, and supportive home for young people facing homelessness. Many of the young people we support may have experienced trauma, mental health challenges, substance misuse, or involvement with the care or criminal justice systems.

Our approach is rooted in respect, empowerment, and inclusion-helping young people build resilience, develop life skills, and take confident steps toward independent living.

Your Role

As a Housing Support Worker, you'll be a key worker and trusted guide, helping young people navigate the challenges of early adulthood. You'll:
  • Hold a small caseload of young people and meet regularly to review progress and goals
  • Co-create personalised support plans and risk assessments
  • Support with housing applications, budgeting, benefits, and essential life skills
  • Connect young people with specialist services (mental health, substance misuse, safeguarding)
  • Build strong, professional relationships based on trust and consistency
  • Maintain accurate records using Microsoft Office and case management systems
What We're Looking For

We welcome applications from people with diverse backgrounds and experiences. You'll be a great fit if you are:
  • Empathetic and resilient, with experience supporting young people aged (18 plus) in housing, education, youth work, or care
  • Knowledgeable about homelessness and housing legislation
  • Skilled in support planning, risk assessment, and signposting to specialist services
  • A confident communicator with strong IT and organisational skills
  • Flexible and reliable, with availability to work shifts including weekends and bank holidays (non-negotiable)
What We Offer
  • A chance to be part of a new, innovative service that puts young people first
  • A supportive team culture where your voice and values matter
  • Ongoing training and development opportunities
  • Enhanced DBS check required (we'll support you through the process)
