The role

The purpose of the role as a Housing Support Worker is to provide a support service to our service users. You will carry out regular support sessions with service users, to ensure that their individual needs are being met. You will work to empower service users, actively engaging them with the community and helping them to support each other, to develop resilience, to live independently and to be an asset to the community.

You will ensure the efficient keeping of appropriate records including case notes, support plans, financial and administrative records. You will also ensure that service users access their full support entitlements, ensuring that housing benefit claims are submitted in a timely manner, and arrears and bad debts actively pursued.

The right fit
  • You have experience working in a support role and have the ability to assess needs to plan and deliver effective, stimulating and dynamic support.
  • Experience providing housing support (1 year is desirable but not essential).
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal - including record keeping, report writing, use of IT and social media platforms.
  • Demonstratable organisational skills, manage workloads and meet deadlines.
  • Able to manage risk appropriately and ensure that procedures are followed.
  • You can develop service user, volunteer and community involvement, and work in an enabling way including facilitating group activities.
